TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR MERCHANTS
As has been done in the years prior to the 2023 license plate reader program, the Inc. Village of Port Jefferson will, at no cost, provide one free parking hang tag per physical business address located in the Incorporated Village. This hang tag may be transferred at will to any other person as per the discretion of the business owner or business owner’s designee and is subject to the following terms and conditions:
• PJV merchant parking vehicular hang tags are available at Village Hall effective April 29, 2024 between the hours of 9:15am and 4:15pm.
• Merchants must provide a current Village of Port Jefferson business registration or a current Village of Port Jefferson Operating License to receive the hang tag.
• Merchant hang tags are only valid for permitted parking in the Port Jefferson Village parking lots.
• Merchant hang tags do not render the car operator eligible to park in lots designated for residents, including the cul-de-sac and cut through on Crystal Brook Hollow Rd., spaces designated for Veterans, or East & West Beach parking spaces. Please note all local and state laws continue to apply to the use of this permit.
• Timed parking restrictions, where noted on specific Village roads including but not limited to: Arden Place, East Main Street, Main Street, and West Broadway, are not waived by the presence of a merchant hang tag. Please note that all parking restrictions, including timed on-street parking, continue to apply to the use of this permit.
• The hang tag is valid only for the year marked on the tag and must be properly displayed at all times.
• If the issued tag is lost, it will not be replaced until applied for again the following year.
