[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]East Beach Bluff project update as of May 2023:

Phase one of the project has reached its final stages, and we are thrilled to report that all of the completed work has withstood the storms we have received so far.

Recently completed:

  • The eastern series of timber terraces have been installed above the seawall extending west to the western wall return.
  • The stone splash pad has been installed on the south side of the existing concrete ramp and connected to the stone behind the wall.
  • Coir erosion control mats have been installed below the existing vegetation.
  • Native grass and goldenrod plugs have been planted to prevent erosion and enhance the area’s natural beauty.
  • Rose shrubs were installed west of the hydrant and along the upper/south side of the splash pad.
  • To further assist in public safety, a temporary fencing plan was installed at the upper bluff area.

As we work to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all visitors, please follow the posted signage and avoid areas that have yet to be completed. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding as we prioritize your safety throughout this project.

On the financial side, we are delighted to share that all necessary paperwork has been submitted to FEMA for the phase two grant. Once we receive word from FEMA, we will be ready to proceed with the next phase of this significant undertaking.

We are happy to announce that the east beach parking lot will be open on June 1st, just in time for the start of beach season on June 24th. So we invite you to enjoy all that East Beach has to offer!

We appreciate your patience and support throughout this project. The East Beach Bluff is a significant undertaking, and we are proud of our progress thus far. We look forward to the completion of the project and the many benefits it will bring to our community.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]
