Trustee Kassay

Rebecca was elected to the Board of Trustees in 2020. She is the commissioner of environmental sustainability and the liaison to the Conservation Advisory Council and both the Six-Acre Park and Tree Committees.

She has led successful initiatives, which include: planning for climate resilience/flood mitigation; increasing resident engagement; establishing a community garden; planning for the revitalization of Village parkland and installing beach-cleanup stations.

An environmentalist, small business owner, and community organizer, Rebecca has a degree in Environmental Studies and Communications & Media from SUNY, New Paltz. Rebecca has lived in Port Jefferson with her husband Andrew, for the past 10 years.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
